A NOTE FROM DELTA DELTA DELTA:
Meet the ladies of Delta Delta Delta! We are a diverse group of women bonded through the values of truth, self-sacrifice, and friendship. At Tri Delta, we don’t want you to be like us, we want you to be like you! We strengthen our chapter by encouraging our sisters to embrace their individual identities and uplift each other’s voices. Truth means living authentically, and it is the value that guides our development from girls into women. Our founder, Sarah Ida Shaw, had a vision for society that would be kind alike to all…a sisterhood that would value a woman’s inner character over her personal appearance. Kindness guides how we live and lead. We show up with kindness in the world today through our partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where we support their fight to end childhood cancer. Our commitment to raising money for St. Jude demonstrates how we live out our value of self-sacrifice. We go above and beyond through our support of Maura’s Voice, our second philanthropy, that works to combat violence against women. Friendship is powered by sisterhood. Being a member of Tri Delta means being part of something bigger than ourselves: we are a family. One of our symbols, the dolphin, can be used as a metaphor for our sisterhood. Similar to a pod of dolphins, we travel together, help each other, work as a team, and show kindness to all. This sense of community is how we build meaningful relationships with each other– relationships that will last far longer than our 4 years at FSU. We are so excited to welcome new members into our chapter this coming Fall and share what it means “to steadfastly love one another.”
